Pros: We've been using the Ansmann standard 9V 250 for years, but with an Energy 16, you can only charge 4 9V's at atime. We just purchased additional in-ear monitor systems and use the Max-E Plus 9V's in them. We're getting the same run-time (about 4.5 hours) plus we didn't have to buy another charger.

Pros: We just replaced all our batteries in the 47 smoke detectors at our office complex with the 9V max E's. Since we change them twice a year, it's easy to charge them up and stock them for the Fall. We were buying 100+ batteries every year and even with bulk discounting, it was still costing us over $200.
Cons: Once you get past the initial outlay, the savings are tremendous.
